During his years in the Air Force John Teamer was in high demand for military and community functions in Alaska. Some
remembered him as a band member, but could not recall his name. They often identified him as the guy with the “Pipes.”
When John heard of this, he fell in love with the idea and decided to keep “Pipes” as a stage name. In trying to personalize
his license plates with the name “Pipes” he found out the name was already taken thus the name “Pypes” was born.
Now, post-retirement, he is resurfacing in the Alaska musical community singing in Homer, Seward, Talkeetna, Palmer and
soon the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts in Anchorage, Alaska. If you'd like to catch “Pypes” in performance, click HERE.
